Research Interest:
I am interested in the neural correlates of empathy and perspective-taking. In my current research, I am examining how taking someone's perspective may affect (and potentially bias) later judgments and perceptions of how fair that person is and how fairly other people treat that person. In future research, I would like to examine whether empathy for positive and negative emotions have common neural overlap (suggesting a neural area specific to empathy). I hope to connect my neural research to daily experiences of empathy by doing fMRI scans on couples and seeing how it translates to their supportive behaviors in everyday life.
