Research Interest:
Broadly, my research consists of examining the effects of stress on health and disease, and in identifying ways of minimizing its harmful effects. In particular, my research focuses on identifying the underlying psychosocial, physiological, neural, and genetic mechanisms guiding stress reduction. My recent work has focused on examining the mechanisms of mindfulness meditation training in HIV-positive and healthy older adult populations, and in the stress buffering effects of self-affirmation.
