I am primarily interested in the neural correlates of emotion regulation. Mostly, this translates to understanding the mechanisms of how putting our feelings into words, a process we call affect labeling, can be a form of incidental emotion regulation. Some of this work also investigates the role affect labeling plays regarding physical and mental health benefits conferred through different types of interventions. I am also involved in work related to neural mechanisms of implicit learning and decision-making.
